Compressor Doesn’t Turn On

The contactor coil receives 24vac and the contacts for line voltage closes. The voltage is then routed to the compressor and the condenser fan motor. If the condenser fan is running the compressor should also be. Items to check:

1. Voltage going to the compressor or bad wire connection

2. Winding of the compressor open (Reference Compressor section in Refrigeration Segment for resistance readings)

3. System not calling for refrigeration

4. Bad contactor or start capacitor
